NBA Ballers (PS2)

NBA Ballers is ready to Ball Up the competition.

NBA Ballers, isn’t just your regular basketball game. From the title you probably assume that this game will have a lot of bling, bling, and then some. Well you assumed right. Ballers lets you play to earn credits to buy friends, cars, cribs, and as much bling and you want. Midway has been known mostly for over the top games like NFL Blitz and other games like that. But it seems like they take a note from EA Games for Ballers. Right when you turn on the game and hear the rap theme song (sung by M.C. Supernatural) you could swear this is a EA game. Since they are accustom to using a good soundtrack of music for their games.

The graphics are tight in this game. Even though there not the best you really don’t need it. The customizable players really shine in Ballers. You can make him look like a pimp, or an old school basketball player, its up to you. Your allowed to wear as much bling as you want as well, from fancy chains to shinny watches and anything else you want. When you earn enough credits you can buy a range of cars, cribs, and friends to stand on the sidelines to help you out. When you get special moves you can pass them the ball and they will alley opp it to you for a sweet dunk.

The rags to riches mode is were this game really shines. The story starts out as you are a contestant on a reality show. It’s a show to see if one amateur can beat the pros and go from rags to riches after just a few tournaments. As you progress you unlock new things to drive, live or wear.

The game play of ballers lets you just pick up the controller and start playing with ease. The controls are easy to learn and the juke moves are cool but are repetitive. Also if the rags to riches just isn’t for you there are plenty of other things to do. Like face off against a friend or one of many legends from the NBA.

With great game play, and a awesome soundtrack Ballers is sure to keep you occupied for a long while. If you got the money I recommend you buy this game, if not this will make a great rental. Until next time this is Yankee logging off.
