The series got a major league face-lift for the third installment and it pays off in big ways. The name of the game is obvious. Reach the end first before everyone else. You have eight lovable Mario characters to choose from. Sadly, Koopa Troopa is no longer with us. In return, we get Wario once again. DK Jr's father takes the spot of his offspring. Other than that, you have twenty new courses, five cups, and unlimited replay value at your fingertips.
There is no story, so I will give you a brief overview of the cups. The mushroom cup is really easy. I am surprised that you could not finish first on this circuit. It is that easy. The flower is a little tougher, but the tracks are still pretty easy. The lightning cup throws a hard curve with the first and fourth course. Both are tough without light, especially the last one. Star Cup is actually a little easier. Special Cup is obviously challenging with some really big challenges.
This game has astounding lighting graphics and some great effects. Control is very easy and the weight of the driver affects their turning. Sound is still classic. Gameplay is really deep and has endless oppurtunties for you to go through. Try to unlock the old courses from the original. I won't tell you how, though.
This game really brings back the magic of the original, and the amazing thing is you are playing it on the size of a candy bar. This game is the best for the GBA for its endless fun and brilliant gameplay. -- Chris Vavra, PGNx Media ---- Jun 7, 2002
