BMX XXX (GCN)

One of the most controversial games in a while is on its way, how is it shaping up? There have been many games that have “pushed the envelope”, but not many have tried this as randomly as BMX XXX. BMX XXX sets out to be chock full of controversy, and so far, it’s going “nicely”.
The extreme sports genre has been through many franchises, from Tony Hawk to AirBlade, but this new entrée: BMX XXX has things none of these games have offered before. This game promises adult rated traits from nudity to over the top cussing. BMX XXX will definitely be one to shield your children’s eyes from.
Let’s draw ourselves into the subject of graphics; in screenshots so far they’ve proved quite mediocre. So far I’ve seen a slight problem with an overabundance of aliasing with items in the near-distance looking less than impressive. Besides this, the character models look fine, with enough details focused on….how should I put this: human anatomy. It is quite comical to see a naked woman riding a bike but with random things conveniently covering “the goods”. Character models have also varied from a pimp to an underdressed cowgirl; so there’s plenty of variety. The levels, however not entirely too detailed, have so far been large and “creative”. One of these levels containing a used car stop with a large statue of a woman in the back of this shop, with streamers going either way from her.....upper body. Of course, I presume that when you grind on this…well we won’t go into that. All in all, half of the downsides I mentioned you probably won’t even be caring about when the developers have focused on “other things”.
I haven’t actually gotten to play this game, but I presume the controls are just like those of the recent extreme sports games. If you had no problems handling games like Mat Hofman or Aggressive Inline, you should be fine in this case. When considering each of the three major controllers’ assortment of face buttons and how they form a diamond of sorts, the buttons are assigned as follows: the bottom button (A, X, or…A) is used for jumping, the left button (B, square or X) is used for the kick flip, the right button ( B, circle or X) is used for grabs and finally, the top button (Y, triangle or…Y) is used for grinding. The rest of the controls aren’t imperative, as yet announced, and these controls are the main ones you will be using along with the joystick for movement. In conclusion, the controls are natural for any fans of the extreme sports genre.
Sound is a trivial subject for this game, since the developers have released very few examples of this. In this portion of the preview, I’m going to guess about the subject the best I can. The music will most likely include examples of rap and rock. These two forms seem as though they’d suit the game’s over-the-top feel and look. And considering the pimps in the game, there’s already some sort of gangster vibes in the game. As for the dialogue, there will be more cussing than necessary, and whether or not this includes all of the words is yet to be known. As of now, you can expect over the top dialogue and plenty of it. Overall, the sound seems trivial, but it’s known that it’ll be as over the top as possible for a rated Mature game.
The game will be mission based like the Tony Hawk games, but with a major twist. BMX XXX has you doing things like getting a dog for a certain pimp’s poodle to….well that’s what I mean. It’ll have you doing things like that, with goals to make you feel as dirty as possible. And if the objective isn’t to do something dirty, then the mission will include enough innuendo to fill the gap. Multiplayer modes sound like the most original and thought out part of this game with things like a Bike Sniper mode. In this mode, one person gets a rifle and ties to shoot the other player while that player does tricks to dodge them. That mode and others could entice normal gamers to look past the perverted feel and offer a better reason to pick it up. All in all, the gameplay is Tony Hawk based with a dirty twist.
In conclusion kids, don’t buy this game. However, if you get your kicks riding around on a bike mostly naked, pick this game up. My thoughts on the success of this game are that it will be a fine rental, but a rental that most will claim was an “accident” just like those dirty movies. Oh, what a world.
